New feature – Integration with Zoom

Changes in companies’ daily functioning dictated by the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the transfer of the majority of business activities to the online world. In order to meet event organizers’ (internal and external) needs, we just enriched Eventory ecosystem with an integration with streaming platforms.

Connecting Eventory and videoconference tools is one of many actions we’ve taken to support organizing online events, so they can be as effective and easy to run as traditional events done through Eventory tools. Zoom application is the first one we integrated with new ones coming soon. Nevertheless, if you use Cisco Webex or Microsoft Teams, you can already connect them to your Eventory events, providing your attendees with a virtual place for events and meetings.

Security

We focus particularly on security of our tools, so we think about it already at the designing phase (security by design). Moreover, data is encrypted and we are regularly audited based on the OWASP methodology. When it comes to external streaming platforms such as Zoom, we added another layer in the form of a separate username, password and event’s individual passcode that is distributed to the attendees of a given event. In particular cases, we use additional second factor authentication (2FA).

Benefits coming from Zoom integration

Thanks to the integration with Zoom and other streaming services, the organizer gains an easier access to event’s location being a virtual room. They can easily direct participants  to their online meeting. Attendees entering event’s profile on web or mobile application can directly join the session without having to search for links in emails or event’s description – the button allowing them to join the streaming is visible on the main screen. Moreover, it’s the organizer who decides when they want to activate or hide the button.

The integration with Zoom is the first of a series of updates. However, you can already easily connect your current videoconference tool with you event on Eventory platform and lead attendees to the right virtual location.
